My relationship with him only works under the strictest terms: expect no connection at all and expect the only common ground to be his ground. If you have common interests with your brother that are functional, you are blessed.

Thanks for visiting.

Yes, lunch is a positive.

Funny the way you and the visitor above you echoed each other.

Yeah I got a brother. We dont not get on, but we dont have much in common besides the parents and childhood either. It's not unfunctional... just sparse for want of much common ground. The older I get the more i realise that as sibling relationships go thats probably better then most.

The Jeep will be better in case it snows anyway. Just sayin'

Yes.
The Jeep is still very fun to drive, universally owns the road, and with its PentaStar engine, has some Zoom! of its own. I won't be suffering greatly.

Agree.
Not enough sand in the hourglass to fret on trifles. As often as one can whine that "he doesn't get me", spiritus whispers "you can honor the same standard and independently get him and accept him."

In the end.....there really is nothing like family. I can struggle with mine, at times, but they are mine. On a funner (sic) note......you drive that Juke......wish I could take a ride with you.

I don't have a brother that I know of. I was adopted. I have a sister, who is not blood, but also adopted. We get along alright, but are not that close. I love her and she loves me. But she is also a dominant so it is like loggerheads at times. She thinks she knows best on everything. But it is ok, in the end she has been there for me when I had health issues. She is younger, but I will probably outlive her.

Hope you can maintain connection on terms that are acceptable. You are a good guy. I know you are one to find common ground.

You are correct: the temptation to zoom around for two hours was lifted.

I took a long trip two years ago this month ... to pick up that Juke (it was one of the last ones of that model class made). The drive back had me pass through some interesting places, while concurrently I was thrown back to places in my past. There is really nothing so depressing as non-familiar family.

On the plus side, I drove my Juke today.

Having someone there for you when you are ill is such a blessing. In the darkness of late nights, I tremble at it often.

But thank you for your kind words.
I haven't been following anything much here: how is your guitar collection? When last I heard, you were collating a large "to buy" list.

Thanks for visiting.

The collecting is on hold at the moment. Needing new furnace and such is taking priority on my funds. But my list is pretty much as follows" Gretsch Country Gentleman (Like George Harrison's), Gibson Non Reverse Firebird, Supro, Vox 12 string, Violin bass, Precision bass, a Aluminum neck guitar, and who knows what may pop up on my radar.
